NO SHIT!

Oh the irony!!!!

Hehe, old people and their funny hats and robes.

I’m going to make a hat and robe myself and be the pope of all internetdom. DON’T DISPUTE ME.

Pope of Internetdom says:

All of this reality is getting in the way of the things that are really important. Pictures of cats, keanu reeves, unfounded anonymous opinions, and various peoples and cup amounts.

Everyone meet at the town square of the internet so we might click and type until all humanity sees our point and decides everything they’ve ever done is wrong. If they don’t sway we’ll start the goatsee wars until we receive reality’s surrender.

catbus:

Quick note with respect to shit about how jobs are ‘evolving’ and not disappearing: When you say that everyone from states that don’t touch oceans think you’re a jackass, because the only evolving the jobs there have done has been pretty “postmodern”; evolving from something…

Take it from a Web Designer in Cbus Ohio, I can make comparable money to people in bigger cities with a lower cost of living thanks to the little tech mecca that is Cbus.

Google bans Windows operating system.

soupsoup:

Google is phasing out the internal use of Microsoft’s ubiquitous Windows operating system because of security concerns, according to several Google employees.

The directive to move to other operating systems began in earnest in January, after Google’s Chinese operations were hacked, and could effectively end the use of Windows at Google, which employs more than 10,000 workers internationally.

Facebook Plans Overhaul of Its User Privacy Settings (Update1) - BusinessWeek

“Users appreciate having precise and comprehensive controls, but want them to be simpler and easier to use,” Facebook said in the statement. “They also like the new programs we have rolled out, but want simple and easy ways to opt out of sharing personal information with applications and websites.”

No, facebook. I don’t think you understand. We don’t like your new programs, and we don’t want to opt out—we want to opt in!

It’s sad to see they’ve gone to the dark side…

That 13 to 17 year old group is the next generation of social networkers, and they are the 2nd least interested in Facebook.
18 to 25 care about Facebook cause they grew up on it, but the interest falls off as they leave that age bracket.
Your mom and dad are on Facebook. 13 to 17 year olds don’t want to social network with their parents, they’re going to go elsewhere.
Facebook will fall off a cliff in the next five years for multiple reasons, and privacy concerns are just one of them. A major factor is that it’s going to be less and less cool to be on Facebook, and I think it already is, ask some millennials. They’re probably already on to the next thing that is the next Facebook.

Not to mention, there are only so many times I can be invited to Pirates v. Ninjas v. Zombies v. Goblins before I decide I shouldn’t be friends with anyone. Facebook Applications were the beginning of the end.

9-Bits: Watch Your Language

ninedaysoff:

The new iPhone developer agreement which Apple posted yesterday has caused a bit of a stir in the development community. Due to the wording, it is currently unclear whether or not certain development platforms will be able to continue delivering iPhone apps — most notably affecting companies…

Haha, yeah.

I’m wondering if any new release of Ps or Fl will be a solid fully functioning application. Or if they’re going to keep pasting bells and whistles on their wobbly crashy xmas trees.

Iconlicious: Snowtape Approval denied by Apple

We’ve been working for the past 3 months with Martin Hering from Vemedio on Snowtape for iPhone.

Without any specific reason Apple decided to denied Martin’s app.

This is absolutely ridiculous and must to stop.

From the original blog post by Martin Hering:

Dear Customers,

I am sorry…

Another great reason why I am breaking up with Apple.

Introducing PlayStation Move – PlayStation.Blog.Europe
PlayStation motion controller named ‘PlayStation Move’

First I’ll admit I got stupid excited when the Wii was anounced. Controllers are awkward, clunky ways for human computer interaction, but us dorks are so used to them, that doesn’t matter. I was really excited for a way that games could become more accessible.

Years later I own the Wii Fit Board, the gun, the steering wheel, and the Motion Sensor Plus, and I could not care less about any of them. I’m not sure if this is because their game line up isn’t that good, or if it’s not that fun to play with a motion controller.

What I do know, is that this device could not entice me less right now. I’ll be interested if an interesting and highly creative game developer (Media Molecule for example) grabbed a hold of it and did something really fun and cool, but somehow I think it’s going to be the same watered down controls on the dumbed down games. This time with better graphics.

We’ll see I guess.

Valve brings Steam to OSX - This announcement is huge - One of the main arguments in the OSX vs PC debate just got hit out of the park - with the ability for cross platform/ cloud-based save game files and games purchased on one platform transferable to the other, as well as simultaneous releases, this is a huge notch in the belt for apple/valve. True, the hardcore legions of gamers who MUST have the latest graphics cards wont be swayed and the premium cost of macs will probably still influence the choice of system in netcafe’s. But to the casual gamer like me, this is great news.
It’s on like Donkey Kong.

PS. I’m reconfine on steam - See you in April.

Keep trying Apple, it’ll take more than Steam to win my love back!!

Adobe could implement the Creative Suite on both platforms so that it has a unified chrome (as they advertised incessentantly and was a total lie for all Mac users), if it were stable, and if it worked with all of the advanced OSX window management features (expose and spaces).

Also, I do want the latest video card. Apple is consistently a year behind the curve for computers that cost as much as theirs.

But god, do I miss Time Machine… :(
