If you are pro choice, take 30 seconds to fill in this form letter and stop the Stupak amendment.

Please. This amendment would take away federal and private insurance funding for abortion coverage, removing the choice for millions of women.

If I lose followers for this… I don’t really care

but

I don’t understand how supporting federal insurance funding for abortions is considered “pro-choice”. Shouldn’t I be allowed to “choose” not to pay for other peoples abortions if I don’t support them?

I think that argument gets a little silly when I think about it. There are people that believe that we shouldn’t be taking medicine, that we should leave our health up to a higher power. Should they be able to remove themselves from paying into this system?

What about people that want to keep feeding tubes in brain dead patients? Or the people that strongly disagree with those people, what about them? Should we write laws to cover everyone’s strong beliefs?

Most health plans provide abortion coverage now, why is the government picking up on this? Abortion is a hot button issue in general, but I don’t see why we’re picking on this area of coverage. It just seems like it should be out of their scope.

If I’m not mistaken, odds are if your work picks up the tab on your insurance, abortion is covered. It’s none of my business what’s covered by insurance companies, that’s their damn job. And let it be known, in general, I am pro-“more coverage” more than I am “less coverage”

I’d rather doctors and insurance company’s consensus (as bad as that can be) decides health coverage, rather than “moral conservatism” or religious beliefs. It’s not their role to inform public policy, ever. Those people (not ideas) are allowed to inform public policy, but only if a empirical, rational thought is driving their views on public policy, and not solely beliefs, or values.

But I do agree with you on one point, after thinking/hearing about this more and more, I think there’s a leap in logic saying that this has a direct link to pro-choice. It seems to be more of a fuzzy gray area link. Although I can understand (and fell for) the knee jerk reaction.

HELP! A General-Purpose Strategy Guide - Know your “weak points!” for massive damage

Awwesome. It makes me a little sad how many of these references I get.

One thing I would have changed, AT AT weak point being Luke Skywalker using a grappling hook to get in it’s belly, not it’s neck. Pfft, silly design nerd got it wrong.

Spiderwoman : An Agent of SWORD - A Motion Comic I Don’t Loathe?

Whaaa? I have loathed all motion comics I’ve seen to this day, not that I think that the medium is inherently bad, just never seen it done in a way that I’ve enjoyed it. Always seemed like a glorified storyboard, or half-ass animation.

Well times are a-changin.

Pretty good voice acting, awesome visuals (even if it is occasionaly too heavily photo-referenced), decent writing, and the first episode got my interest piqued.

The web was still young, it was the early days of Netscape Navigator

We prepared a photoshopped design proposal for the upcoming brandnew website of a corporation: Black text on white pages, with headlines and links using the corporate design colors.

The CEO replied: “You guys are amateurs! Swindlers! I showed this to my son, he knows HTML. This isn’t possible! Everybody knows that in Netscape, pages are gray, links are blue and visited links are purple.”

iA has made available its entire 17-page (paid) pitch document for the redesign of Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger in a detailed article discussing the proposed solution. The UX-led approach, while conceptually and aesthetically strong, ultimately failed to win over the client. Some beautiful typography (Frutiger New and Frutiger Serif) and bold ideas in there though: I quite like the concept of article keywords highlighted in blue for easy scanning of the paper’s title page.
